Copa UEFA

Here's hoping that the Champion's League Final delivers as much as the UEFA Cup Final did. Both Spanish sides seemed to be infected by the Scottish rain as the play seemed to have a distinctly British flavor and the game flowed back and forth at breakneck pace.

The style was more direct than the standard La Liga fare, but it sure was entertaining to watch. While Espanyol's reduction to 10 men hurt the game when they were forced to bunker a bit and slow down the play, their late equalizer deep in extra time made up for it in entertainment value.

It's just a shame that games like this have to end in PK's, but they have to end somehow. While my sympathies were with Espanyol, as they were the underdog and wear blue and white, Sevilla deserved their victory. Speaking strictly as a neutral, thanks for a lovely game go out to both clubs. Ole!
