Bar the Doors!

Zombie Beasley has stuck one fragile limb out of the grave!

Given their past links, you know Bob is just itching to make the call. And if DMB's healthy, playing, and confident, how can you ignore him, even with the multi-year rut he's been stuck in?

  1. You can't. He'll be in South Africa, unless he gets hurt again (I give it a 50-50 chance, if he stays in Scotland). If he's really got his speed and confidence back -- and from the video and reports from the past couple games, maybe he does -- you can't ignore the telepathic link with Donovan. Beasley on the left, Donovan on the right lets you move Dempsey up top, while giving you the counterattacking speed you lose with Davies out.

  2. If Bob can call EJ back in for those European friendlies, you can bet we will see Beasley called in now.

The issue remains, however, that maybe Rangers are just playing him to display his wares prior to selling him to another club - they have been pretty up front about selling him. If so, then it will be interesting to see where he goes and if he can break into the lineup. You also have to note that playing well against lesser teams in the Scottish Premier League is akin to playing well in the Championship - good but not great.

Also, if we bring him back, who gets left off the 23 man roster -- Torres? Rogers? I'd hate to see Torres left at home but with Rogers it would be a wash.

Finally, if he does get back to starting for a club, assume he will be injured by spring and the whole question could be moot.
