Even if you're not the biggest fan of things "over there", and even if you've never heard a rendition of "Niall Quinn's Disco Pants" coming from the terraces, I urge you to check out the latest edition of the Football Weekly Podcast for Barry Glendenning's terrific telling of the legendary origins of the famous song. Ah, the Irish. Providing not just the characters and the stories, but also the fantastic storytellers to relate them, exaggerate and stretch them, and brush them with gentle, touching bits of detail and humor.
Also worthy of a chuckle is the latest variant of the song (conveniently located under the heading "Song" on Quinn's Wikipedia page), "Niall Quinn's Taxi Cabs."
