Got the Itch...

...but nothing concrete to scratch it with (via dcunited.com)...
He's only been with the team three days, but Brazilian trialist Guilherme continues to impress.

United spent much of Wednesday's session doing 3-v-2 and 2-v-1 attacking exercises. On consecutive turns, the Botafogo player slammed a close-range effort past Andrew Dykstra and then curled a shot from distance around Joe Willis' 6-foot-5 frame.

We'll learn more about Guilherme's abilities as a one-on-one defender in Charleston, but his offensive skill set is certainly the type that gets personnel evaluators excited.

Sounds promising in the abstract. But why -- oh why? -- weren't Toronto invited to the Coffee Pot Cup so we could get some video evidence for ourselves?

  1. Chicago Fire will be covering all the Fire games so we will get to see the game on the 25th. Not sure about the other games but hopefully they will follow suite like TFC.

  2. Thanks, Ted. Confirmation here. Article only references Fire matches being streamed, so clear your Saturday schedule in case the other matches aren't.

  3. The Battery tweeted today that they will be providing a stream for all games in Charleston. Whether or not it will be via the Fire, I do not know... I also remember that last year the Fire did stream and announcing online for all the games.

  4. Excellent news.

I knew they did webcasts for USL's live-streaming thing, so I was kinda hoping this would happen. Still strange to tweet it and not put any information on their website (yet).
